Installation of Steel Bracket and vertical Frame Runner For ACP Cladding

Brackets and steel support installation is requiring to support the Aluminum Composite panel ACP. The survey and layout for the bracket installations to perform the fabrication accordingly taking consideration of the building control points to start the survey.

Survey and Layout Layout For the Steel Bracket

All layout points shall be taken from the control points provided by the Main Contractor. Layout for the steel brackets that will support the steel vertical frame runner shall be double checked based on the approved layout plan which should match the architectural intent. Any discrepancies should be reported immediately to the contractor and the CM for proper rectification. HSE risk assessment Materials Storage and House Keeping at the construction site.

Steel Frame Layout Points and Coincides

If the vertical steel runner frame layout points and coincides with the building’s roof drainage pipe that runs vertically on the wall, the frame should be rectified and avoid the tube but not to hinder the structural integrity of the frame runner. In no means that the tube will be used as a structural support for the frame runner and the ACP fixation.

Survey and Steel Bracket Installation

Inspection and Coordination with Servey Team

Initial inspection of the area shall be conducted, in coordination with the Main Contractor survey team. Its purpose is to pre-determine the control points and benchmarks used by the contractor in locating grid lines, which is going to be the basis of the layout plan for the structural steel frame support of ACP cladding

Ensure Reference Line of Contractor

Provide the reference line in the presence of the survey team from the main contractor. Mark, the installation line, based on the reference line and the approved shop drawing.

Joint inspection and Familiarization

After the joint inspection and familiarization, subcontractor team can start the layout and mark of offsets for elevations and gridlines needed for erection of brackets and vertical runners. Subcontractor surveyors will use distinct markings to prevent confusion from the Main Contractor’s marking.

Verification of Building

The actual dimension of the buildings perimeter and floor height shall be verified and ascertain that the conditions stated in the preceding general requirements do exist. Data gathered from the verification shall then be forwarded to subcontractor Alum. Technical Department for any design and fabrication correction. If there are substantial deviations from the pre-set conditions were found, it shall be reported to the Main Contractor for immediate rectification.

Elevation settings

Establish The Elevation Marks

Taking reference from ground zero, set the Elevation marks and created an offset using structural wall finish as the reference. Check the level with a water level and flush thread or plumb-bob line, if necessary. A digital optical leveling instrument or equivalent can also use for determining the alignment and correct level of the structure wall.

Note and Mark Not Aligned

If some parts of the wall are not aligned vertically, it will be noted and marked where the curve or bulging concrete structure is located, and whichever has the farthest discrepancy, it will mark as the point of reference to follow all another alignment.

Check and determine all corner points

Check and identify all corner points of the building if it follows a right angle through the use of a steel 22”x 16” right angle square rule or any digital optical leveling instrument or equivalent.

Point Horizontal and Vertical Alignment

Make a reference point for horizontal and vertical alignment through flush strings once the corner right angle position and the vertical alignment of the wall are establishing.

Marking Gridline and Reference

Established the gridline and reference point for the bracket fixing using the Main Contractor approved reference point.

Vertical center to center distance spacing

Obtain the vertical center to center distance spacing according to the shop drawing grid line and start at the center of the building. Marked the reference line to be used for vertical runner frame from center to the left, center to the right affirmed by the approved shop drawing. Do this also when marking the horizontal bracket level line. Confirm the reference line in the presence of Contractor and CM representatives.

Leveling of Horizontally and Vertically

Established the position of the bottom part bracket of the frame horizontally and vertically using a water level hose or any digital optical leveling instrument.

Bracket Hold By Bolt

Install the bottom bracket (BKT-1) by holding in two M12/115 Hilti HST-R Anchor Bolt. If the bracket needs adjustment far away distinctly from the wall following the flush thread and plumb bob line, use shim pad to augment the alignment from each other bracket.

Install the bottom and middle bracket

Install the bottom and middle bracket (BKT-1& BKT-2) around the perimeter of the building.

Fix Vertical Steel Frame Runner

The vertical steel frame runner (FV-1 or FV-2) will then fix on the wall bracket. Ensure that the steel vertical frame follows our vertical and horizontal reference alignment.
  1. Fix the bottom part of the vertical frame runner to the bottom bracket (BKT-1) by M12 x 100 Stainless Steel Through bolt with nut and washer. 
  2. Continue fixing the upper brackets (BKT-2 & BKT-3) 
  3. Ensure that the horizontal cleats of the vertical frames are in line and level to the other cleats of the steel frame. 
  4. Fix the remaining frame brackets. 
  5. BKT-4 will be set at the top of the concrete parapet wall. 
  6. Fixation and layout of BKT-4 will follow the vertical steel frame coordinates. 
  7. Finished fixing remaining vertical steel frame runners in line with reference line coordinates. 

Horizontal Frame brackets

Horizontal Frame bracket (FH-1R) will fix on every concrete opening intended for doors or windows. It will set on the outer edge of the concrete, aligning to the horizontal steel c-channel runner.

Check and Ensure Fixed Steel Frame

After all the vertical steel frame runner is fixed in one elevation, check and ensure that the steel frame follows the center to center marking points indicated on the shop drawings.
