Check Iqama Expiry, Query Iqama Expiry in KSA or Check Expiry of your Muqeem Card. The Ministry of Interior MOI, Saudi Arabia portal, is now providing free online service to "Query Iqama Expiry Service" check Iqama expiry service including iqama expiry date.

Due to Muqeem card printing now for 5 years is supposed not be exactly the 5 years. The Ministry system might show the less than 5 years But the purpose of saving money to print each individual Iqama yearly. The Query result of resident permit expiry date is in Hijri calendar, and you will need to convert then this date to Gregorian date.

Why do you need to check Expiry date?

Because due to recently Ministry announcement of resident permit printing to be for 5 years instead of one or two years. The expatriate will now hold Muqeem or residence card until 5 years, but system record could be different like one year or two years only.

The expat/resident required seeing their expiry date for the purpose to avoid any bank frozen and any other governmental transaction. While notify or remind the employer/company to renew Mmuqeem card. Thus, it is required for the expatriate to user MOI tools for checking iqama expiry service showing the maturity date.

The Ministry of the Interior is also now facilitating Absher registered the user if your mobile number added in their system which would give you a notification if Iqama is near to expire. And also facilitating with SMS notification after the renewal of Muqeem but not limited to this information. It is also notifying you for Exit-Entry visa issuing or upon final exit issuing.

Expired Iqama will be penalized with a fine of SR 500

If for any purpose or reason your iqama gets expired and didn’t renew on time, the government penalty will be imposed to pay SR500 before renewing of Muqeem or resident permit. Also, renewal is important due to expired iqama you could be arrested to the police station and will impose further SR 1000 fine for not having the Iqama or expired one. Recently expatriate is faced with the problem to even holding temporary iqama.

Who is renewing Resident permit?

Residents can be renewed only by your sponsor, establishment or company working under them with working contract. Your renewal of a resident permit is to be paid only by your sponsor, institution or company. Therefore, all penalties related to late fee for an expired residence permit should be pay by your sponsor.

If local official arrest you with no residents permit not issued to from the sponsor or expired resident permit documents then it becomes your sponsor responsibility to support you bringing from local official and the related imposed penalty of SR 1000 fine should be paid by the sponsor.

Precaution of expired iqama or Residence Permit

You should not move around the city if you are without a residence permit or no documentation to support you the cause. Mostly likely you become illegal. If you are staying in accommodation for these days; it should be fully paid and considering as working day. Especially you should not go outside the city where it might even difficult to your sponsor to travel far for bringing you back from government officials.
