Why you should secure your account with two steps verification:

The password can be harvested easily from you. If the password is the only access way then someone else could easily enter your account by just knowing your password. Or you might be using the same password for other websites. Getting into that database could be your account password. OR you may click spam link stealing your account password OR third party apps that stealing your information while you don’t know.

There are many tools like keylogger and many more hacking tools that can be used to steal your password and without two-factor authentication, someone will enter your account.

Google smart security also preventing users from signing in from a different location, or frequent traveling could be challenged to sign in but with two-factor authentication, you will have no issue to prove Google that you are the account owner.

People don’t like due to repeated request for authentication code but you will have the option for a personal computer not to repeat authentication code request if the same computer is not using by someone else. And Google/browser will remember this option for one month.

If your friend/family know your password you will have no worries that Gmail will allow access to sign in with just a single password. You can also consider as a security alert by getting SMS verification code from Google that someone is trying to sign in your account.

Imagine someone else got access to your account and deleted your important emails or got access to your financial companies and bank information.
